PLM manages the product throughout its design and engineering lifecycle, CAD files, BOMs, engineering change orders, and manufacturing feasibility, used by R&D and engineering teams during product development. PIM for manufacturing manages the product once it’s ready for market, descriptions, images, pricing, compliance docs, and channel-specific content for sales, marketing, and ecommerce teams. PLM focuses on “how to build it”; OdooPIM focuses on “how to sell it.” At product launch, a subset of PLM data flows into OdooPIM, where it is enriched into market-ready content that can be distributed across sales channels without losing engineering accuracy.
